Last weekend made for some great times with friends. When's the last time you flew a kite? Annette's good friend Candace and her boyfriend, Scott, stopped by with some games and kites on Saturday. Fortunately, things warmed up a little in the afternoon and we were able to get out to fly those things after a few games of Rummy.

Tuesday was excellent. I met with David and Vanessa for their engagement shoot and we had an awesome time, starting with a cool parkade stairwell on 112th. These two had the most fun out of anybody I've had in front of my camera. And Vanessa is a natural poser.

We moved on to the University and there were so many little spots I wanted to go to, we ended up taking longer than I'd hoped - not that it was too long for me, but I feel bad if my clients get a little tired of being shot at. But they were filled with energy the entire time and the fun finally stopped two and a half hours later in the University LRT station with a shot that almost looks superimposed - weird.

The result was some of my favorite shots ever. My new Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L was a workhorse on my 50D and nailed the focus on almost every shot. After six months of setting up business in Edmonton, it was nice to finally get out and do some actual shooting. I can't wait to shoot the wedding of this great couple.  -M

Well, here's my new blog. I've held out long enough.
